How to automate price replies on Instagram

To automate price replies on Instagram, create a narrow keyword rule for a specific product or service, send a precise answer or maintained pricing page, and leave changing availability and exceptions to the source that owns them.

The direct answer

Choose a price-related keyword people already use, such as price, cost, rates, or menu. In Replyrr, connect that intent to a saved response containing the correct amount and context, or send the maintained product, collection, service, or menu page where the current price lives.

Replyrr can apply the pattern to supported comment-to-DM and incoming DM keyword workflows. The Instagram DM automation page explains the broader reply model; this guide focuses on keeping commercial answers accurate.

How to route different price questions

The rule should know only what you explicitly configured. A fixed response can send a product page; it does not query live inventory unless a separate supported integration actually supplies that data. Replyrr’s core workflow should not be described as a stock system or booking engine.

03

Build the price-reply rule step by step

  1. STEP 01

    Choose one commercial intent

Start with the product, collection, service, menu, or offer generating the most repeated price question. Do not combine unrelated destinations under a single generic reply.

  2. STEP 02

    Choose where the question starts

Use comment-to-DM when a post or Reel invites a public price keyword. Use an incoming DM keyword when people already message the account directly. Configure and test each surface you intend to use.

  3. STEP 03

    Choose the customer’s word

Use the language visible in real enquiries and in the campaign call to action. PRICE can work for one focused campaign; a product name or service word may be clearer when several offers are active.

  4. STEP 04

    Write a self-contained answer

Name the product or service, explain what the destination contains, and provide the current route. Include a literal price only when the team has a reliable process for updating it.

  5. STEP 05

    Add a human exception path

Invite questions that require a custom quote, bundle decision, size recommendation, regulated answer, or another judgement call. Do not force every enquiry through the same fixed reply.

  6. STEP 06

    Test the commercial path

Trigger the rule as a customer would, open the destination on mobile, verify the price context, and confirm that an unrelated word does not receive the same response.

04

Write price replies that preserve context

“Here’s the price” is rarely enough when several items are visible in the conversation. Name the item and explain what the linked page confirms. The reply should still make sense if it is opened after the person has left the original post.

  • Product campaign: “Here is the product page for the linen jacket, with the current price and available options: [link]”
  • Service campaign: “Here is the current consultation price, what it includes, and the booking route: [link]”
  • Menu request: “Here is today’s maintained menu and ordering information: [link]”
  • Custom quote: “This service depends on the project. Use this short enquiry form so the team can price the right scope: [link]”

Boutiques and shops can use the focused Instagram DM automation playbook. Businesses with several local intents can keep price, menu, hours, location, and booking in separate rules using the local-business workflow.

05

Keep the answer current after launch

Every price automation needs an owner and a change process. Decide whether the maintained source is the DM copy, product page, collection page, menu, service page, or quote form. Then update that source before the campaign promotes a new offer.

  1. List every active rule that mentions a literal price or discount.
  2. Prefer one maintained destination for facts that change across campaigns.
  3. Check product names, currency, inclusions, and destination URLs during each price change.
  4. Pause an automation when the advertised item is unavailable or the destination is being replaced.
  5. Retest the received DM and linked page after every material update.
06

Use fixed rules for facts; use AI cautiously for context

A keyword reply is the safer default when the answer must be exact. Replyrr’s optional AI can handle unmatched questions on paid plans using the business information you provide, but it should not invent a price, discount, stock level, or policy that is missing from that approved context.

  • Use a fixed keyword for named prices, current price pages, menus, rate cards, and quote forms.
  • Use approved business context for broader questions whose answer is actually documented.
  • Route ambiguity, negotiation, sensitive details, and custom scope to a person.
  • Review the source information and real exceptions instead of widening the automation blindly.
07

Launch the narrowest revenue-ready version

The first useful version can be one high-intent Reel, the word PRICE, a reply naming the exact product, and the current product page. That is easier to trust and maintain than a universal price bot.

Follow the comment-to-DM setup guide when the question starts in comments. Read how to automate booking replies when the next commercial step is a calendar, and verify the current free and paid allowances on the pricing page before launch.
